A powerful New Zealand story inspired by the true story of Tārore, a Māori girl murdered in the mid 1800’s. ‘Broken’, tells the modern-day-version of Tārore’s story. Ex-gang leader, Logan is raising his daughter Tori. When she is murdered, Logan must choose forgiveness or revenge.

Tārore always carries the Gospel of Luke with her until the book is stolen by her murderer from a marauding tribe. Upon reading the book, the murderer is so filled with remorse that he seeks forgiveness from Tārore’s father. This restores peace between two warring tribes and ends a cycle of war.

‘Broken’, tells the modern-day-version of of Tārore’s story. Logan an ex-gang leader, has left the gang life to raise his daughter Tori. But when Tori is murdered by an opposing gang in town, Logan must choose between forgiveness or revenge. Cruz, Tori’s murderer, must also choose forgiveness in order to end the cycle of hatred and revenge which is escalating into an inevitable gang war.
