Join us for a 30 min fun, educational and engaging session each week. Grounded in the methods of Dalcroze Eurhythmics and Orff Schulwerk, this class nurtures a love for music from a young age.
Bringing attention to the world of sound, rhythm, movement, singing, actions, and play, in these sessions, students will develop in-tune singing using hand signs, and play a range of percussion and melodic instruments.
This holistic approach nurtures all the fundamental aspects needed to grow them into choosing an instrument to pursue further when they are ready. We encourage parents and caregivers to join in on the session.
This class will happen every Thursday during School Term
No casual bookings, commit to a Term at a time to get full benefits. $12 per session / $120 per 10 week term

Come and see what Karioi Quilters and Crafters have been busy creating! This exhibition promises to be full of colour, design and pattern - you don't need to be a quilter to admire the skills that have gone into creating these works of art.
In addition, the quilters have generously donated their time and skills to create 5 quilts using fabrics donated to the Old School from the estate of the late Mavora Hamilton - there will be a silent auction for these treasures, as well as gifts for sale.
You can meet Karioi Quilters and Crafters and learn more about their crafts on Thursday 8 August - keep an eye out for pop-up demos too, from spinning to Slow Stitching.
The exhibition wraps up on Thursday 15 August - join us at 6pm to celebrate the event and find out the results of the silent auction

The lives of two strangers are changed forever when they cross paths on the surfing adventure of a lifetime, discovering love, downshifting and four Chilean horses.
Winner Byron Bay International Film Festival: Best Documentary
The Road to Patagonia is a stunning, intimate and unflinching series of love letters within a documentary – firstly a love between two people, and secondly between humanity and the Earth. We follow Matty Hannon on an incredible solo adventure, to surf the west coast of the Americas by motorbike, from the top of Alaska to the tip of Patagonia.
But deep in the wilderness - alone with the wolves and the bears – Matty’s plans unexpectedly fall to pieces. After losing everything, and on the cusp of quitting he meets the girl of his dreams, a permaculture farmer named Heather Hillier who throws caution to the wind and sells her urban-farm to buy a bike of her own. Together riding south, the duo meet with Zapatista rebels, Amazonian shamans and Mapuche leaders whose salient words crack the adventurers’ cultural veneer.
The theme of deep ecology underpins the entire film, visually communicated through exquisite cinematography and emotional verité sequences. Shot over 16 years, the result is an adventurous exposé on the more-than-human world, offering a physical and spiritual odyssey to better understand our place in Nature.

Based on a remarkable true story, Unsung Hero follows David Smallbone as he moves his family from Down Under to the States, searching for a brighter future.
Stuff James Croot 3/5 "It’s the soundtrack that really surprises. Instead of a predictable collection of Christian pop and rock, we have evocative classic cuts from the early ‘90s by everyone from Jesus Jones to Lenny Kravitz and Seal."
Searching for a brighter future after his successful music company collapses. With nothing more than their seven children, suitcases, and their love of music, David (for KING + COUNTRY’s Joel Smallbone) and his pregnant wife Helen (Daisy Betts) set out to rebuild their lives. Helen’s faith stands against all odds and inspires her husband and children to hold onto theirs. With their own dreams on hold, David and Helen begin to realize the musical prowess in their children, who would go on to become two of the most successful acts in Inspirational Music history: five-time GRAMMY Award®-winning artists for KING + COUNTRY and Rebecca St. James..

The Karioi Quilters have been making high quality, natural fibre, artistic quilts for many years. Primarily a patchwork and quilting group, the members meet to share knowledge and skills and enjoy creating in good company.
From 2023, we changed the name to Karioi Quilts and Crafts to open the group up to other crafters.
Members can work on their own projects ranging from quilts, sewing projects and you can even bring your knitting, as long as it’s not a messy craft anything goes. New members are always welcome to come along to work on their own projects and learn techniques from a group of very creative craftspeople.
Group co-ordinator is Sue Webber 021 489944
Meetings are held at the Raglan Old School Arts Centre from 10am to 1pm (sometimes 3pm if the room is available) on the second Thursday of every month. 10 sessions per year from February to December. Subscription is $30 per yea r which goes towards room hire.

DIRECTOR: Matty Hannon

James..
PRODUCER: Joel Smallbone, Justin Tolley, Josh Walsh, Luke Smallbone
DIRECTOR: Richard Ramsey, Joel Smallbone
WITH: Jonathan Jackson, Lucas Black, Terry O'Quinn, Joel Smallbone, Daisy Betts, Kirrilee Berger, Paul Luke Bonenfant, Candace Cameron Bure

SITTING DUCK: The true story of Maureen Kearney (Isabelle Huppert), the head union representative of a French multinational nuclear powerhouse. She became a whistleblower, denouncing top-secret deals that shook the French nuclear sector.
The Australian 3.5/5 "A provocative and at times disturbing drawn-from-life drama that is given extra power by an outstanding performance by Isabelle Huppert."
Set in the world of nuclear power and politics
An investigative thriller set in the world of nuclear power and politics. Alone against the world, Maureen Kearney fought government ministers and industry leaders, tooth and nail to bring the scandal to light and to defend more than 50,000 jobs. Her life was turned upside down when she was violently assaulted in her own home. The investigation is carried out under pressure: the subject is sensitive. Suddenly, new elements create doubt in the minds of the investigators. At first a victim, Maureen becomes a suspect.
DIRECTOR: Jean-Paul Salomé
WITH: Isabelle Huppert, Grégory Gadebois

GHOSTLIGHT: A FILM ABOUT FAMILY, ART, HUMOR & HEALING
After premiering at Sundance this year, Ghostlight has impressed audiences and critics alike with its touching and gently comic tale of the healing power of art. With 100% on Rotten Tomatoes and a high placing on Letterboxd's Top 10 films of the year.
Alex Thompson and Kelly O'Sullivan’s moving, gently comic collaboration is about the power of
live theater to make sense of our offstage dramas and personal narratives. Ghostlight centers
on Dan (Keith Kupferer), a melancholic middle-aged construction worker grieving a family
tragedy.
Cut off from his devoted wife, Sharon (Tara Mallen), and talented but troubled
daughter, Daisy (Katherine Mallen Kupferer), Dan finds comfort and community in a misfit
company of amateur actors. While moonlighting in a low-rent production of Shakespeare’s most
protean tragedy, Dan is forced to confront his buried emotions.
Real-life family Mallen, Kupferer, and Mallen Kupferer bring tenderness and authenticity to this poignant portrait, while Dolly de Leon — last seen stealing the scene in Triangle of Sadness — is hilarious as Dan’s irascible, improbable co-star.
