Spirit of Christmas goes industrial chic in Wallis Street

Due to the ongoing work in our car park we are unable to hold our annual Spirit of Christmas exhibition-sale fundraiser in the gallery this year – luckily we have been offered the use of a workshop space in the old dairy factory, 58 Wallis Street. Some parking is available, plus it’s an easy stroll from town and on the way to the wharf. Come along for all your decorations, quirky gift ideas and or maybe just to treat yourself… everything is handmade by local artists.

Opening Friday 8 December 6pm, then daily 10-4 until Sunday 17 December, plus late nights 5-8pm Thurs 14 and Friday 15 December.

The Karioi Quilters have been making high quality, natural fibre, artistic quilts for many years. Primarily a patchwork and quilting group, the members meet to share knowledge and skills and enjoy creating in good company. From 2023, we changed the name to Karioi Quilts and Crafts to open the group up to other crafters. Members can work on their own projects ranging from quilts, sewing projects and you can even bring your knitting, as long as it’s not a messy craft anything goes. New members are always welcome to come along to work on their own projects and learn techniques from a group of very creative craftspeople.
