Karioi Quilts & Crafts - second Thursday of every month.
The Karioi Quilters have been making high quality, natural fibre, artistic quilts for many years. Primarily a patchwork and quilting group, the members meet to share knowledge and skills and enjoy creating in good company.
From 2023, we changed the name to Karioi Quilts and Crafts to open the group up to other crafters.
Members can work on their own projects ranging from quilts, sewing projects and you can even bring your knitting, as long as it’s not a messy craft anything goes. New members are always welcome to come along to work on their own projects and learn techniques from a group of very creative craftspeople.

The "Long Live Cowgirls" exhibition by Nasie Bella Bayley (Burnt Sugar Photography) is a tribute to the grit, grace, and spirit of women in western and rural life, set against the rich backdrop of Raglan’s storied history. Known for its stunning coastal landscapes and deep Māori heritage, Raglan has long been a place where nature and culture intertwine. This exhibition captures the essence of both—combining the rugged beauty of the land with the resilience and strength of cowgirls who live in harmony with it. From the waves of Whaingaroa Harbour to the rolling hills of rural life, each image reflects not only the modern cowgirl’s story but also Raglan’s legacy of freedom, connection, and endurance.
Through these images, Nasie honors the women who work the land and the community that has shaped this unique coastal town, creating a visual narrative that celebrates tradition and progress.
