Helmed by songwriter and keyboard player Stephanie Cairns, Pōneke/ Wellington art-rock trio Birdfeeder’s songs are full of unearthly melodies and thoughtful lyrics. Their bold theatrical sound is influenced by acts such as Kate Bush, Joanna Newsom and Cate Le Bon, often accompanied by lush visuals.

Birdfeeder have had a big year with the release of EP The Vile Isle and accompanying genre-busting stage show, The Veiled Isle. These projects saw Birdfeeder exploring song themes ranging from climate change paranoia to metaphysical musings on the nature of time.
